Have you Met Chicago's Vase & Vessel?
“My goal, every day, is to create the store that I want to shop at myself. I love being a small business in a local community, and I love being able to support local artists from that community.” ”
A hidden gem snuggled in the heart of Chicago's hip Andersonville neighborhood, Vase & Vessel was established by proprietors Bill Dlugokienski and Adam Kruse with a mission to champion the story of Illinois artistry through thoughtfully curated home accents and gifts. Since its inception, Vase & Vessel has garnered a reputation as a place where elegance meets authenticity and where beauty finds home in everyday life. At its core, the shop embodies its commitment to craftsmanship and inclusivity, as well as a tangible dedication to supporting local artisans, minority-owned brands, and emerging talents.
Prior to Vase & Vessel, Dlugokienski spent two decades in higher education, with roles at the University of Missouri, Lake Forest College, and Northwestern University. Working alongside his husband, Kruse also maintains an active role as a lawyer. A couple for over twenty years, the duo combined chance and passion in 2020, opening Vase and Vessel on Clark Street, the foundation of which sits upon a shared love of handmade ceramics.
