Which means we just found them! But, as they say… “Better late than never…” (and they DO say that, you know!)

Scene: The Columbus Circle offices of  Steelcase as the New York Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers presented their 2nd annual Horace Havemeyer III :State of Design program. Aside from a spectactular location which enable attending design professionals to mingle in high style, the evening also featured a lively discussion about the current state of the design market moderated by Metropolis editor in chief, Susan S. Szenasy. In addition to the esteemed members of the Chapter Board, the event was full of industry folk looking to support the chapters Education Legacy Fund.

And that, as they also say, is never a bad thing!

The finished product was a more than elegant vignette featuring a lovely tub (from our pals at Victoria and Albert Baths) and it’s accompanying shower from Hansgrohe/Axor! And being more than lovely to look at, the proceeds fromn the sale of everything went to New York’s Housing Works.

But don’t take our word for it! Take a gander at the local ABC channel: they liked the JDEID vignette too!  Congratulations to John Eason for “Doing Good” (if not great) in 2012!

Which is why when this little recap ditty from the ASID New Jersey magazine made its way across our desks, we laughed. (You may remember this event from our “Metro New York Gets into a Niche” posting a bit ago). In any case, seeing our own Joseph Aldrich (along with Hansgrohe’s Jen Bruno and a rather assorted cast of characters) in print is enough to make us laugh.

But just a bit.

Thus, when we ran across a listing of Social Networks on the forefront of the radar from Ignite Social Media, we thought we would share.

Scene: True to form and tradition, the Laguna Design Center brought Orange County’s interior design and shelter industry together for their annual Spring Market Day. In addition to presenting the esteemed Juan Montoya in their center court, the day culminated in a grand soiree sponsored by the folks at California Homes magazine. Now, everyone knows how much we here at The Cypress Group don’t mind taking business development to an event in a design showroom!
