In interpreting the 2018 LEGENDS X theme of “Today’s Vision. Tomorrow’s Home”, Southern California interior designer Alfredo Llamedo-Sierra (AlfredoDesigns.com) looks to the past in creating a sugar-coated showcase with its eyes firmly fixed on the future. Partnering with Hollywood Sierra Kitchens, Alfredo marries 1980s New Wave themes with a colorful post-apocalyptic spin on the nuclear family in bringing his “Dawn’s Workshop” tableaux to visitors along West Hollywood’s storied design corridor. Anchored by vivid multi-hued flooring, custom graphic FlIEPAPER wallcovering joins kinetic “Tick Tock Kitchies” in elevating this unique installation out of mere display and into the arena of pure experience.
Says Alfredo, “I wanted to illustrate how, even when days seem bleak, the sun will always rise and our days will be filled with color and light. The idea that so much of our lives happen in the kitchen really does create a perfect synergy with Hollywood Sierra Kitchens.”
With “Dawn’s Workshop” on view to the public through May 17th, Alfredo joins Luxe Interior + Design Magazine, Hollywood Sierra Kitchens and designer Erica Islas in exploring the intersection of interior and kitchen design as part of this year’s LEGENDS X programming:
