The Buzz Around Networking.

August 17, 2011 No comments yet

While we are at our core a marketing and business development consulting company, The Cypress Group is commited to local outreach and giving back to organizations that improve the lives of people around us. (Witness our “Do Good” programs and projects). Which is why we were so thrilled to see this event from our friends at The Irvine Chamber of Commerce about including philanthropy into your business.

To which there is only one response: “See you there!”

People We Love: The Irvine Chamber of Commerce

August 15, 2011 No comments yet

True Fact: sit with us for 20 minutes and you will hear us say “Find your market/people and go to them”. It’s a mantra we live by and one we work hard with our clients to integrate as part of an overall marketing and/or business development strategy. It’s also a mantra we here at The Cypress Group work into our own business as we move around Orange County. We look to interact (and by interact, we mean network) with “our people”, meaning established local or regional businesses who are looking to grow in a thoughtful, targeted manner.

Enter The Irvine Chamber of Commerce. Aside from being one of the largest professional chambers around (with some of the funnest events ever labeled “business”), the people behind the scenes are working hard to redefine the value of what a chamber of commerce can actually do in today’s market.

Yes, they have networking breakfasts and trips to China, BUT they are looping in actual relevance by targeting Emerging Professionals, tossing money at start-ups, cross marketing their members and integrating new technology as fast as it hits the streets. As with all things 2011, this is an organization that is neither staid nor static.

So here is a suggestion (and some free advice): If you are a small business in Irvine or beyond, you may want to check these people out.  Just a suggestion.

Let’s Get Technical.

August 10, 2011 No comments yet

What with Summer getting set to wind down (”Back to School” anyone?), it seems like a good time to get back up on the speaking bandwagon again. As such, we are excited to be a part of the 26th Annual ASEI National Convention taking place in September.

Now, what does a marketing company have to do with NASA? Well, a quick read of the info below show the event is has a social media track. So, while we don’t know much about launching rockets into space, we do know a thing or two about that! Toss in a bit of business development and using technology to help your business and BAM, it’s right up our alley!

The conference is open to everyone, so stay tuned and ponder if perhaps this might be a good way to spend a Saturday. (We did!).

With temperatures rising and the days lingering… why not hang out more?

If you happen to be in the area, might we suggest an evening with our friends a Bask Magazine?

Summer Events: Design & Wine.

July 7, 2011 No comments yet

If it’s summer, it’s time for events! (and why not?!?!)

For those of you who live in the designer space – interior designers, business consultants,  industry partners/vendors and the like – be sure to stop by Judy’s Custom Workroom in Aliso Viejo for a summer happy hour with their friends from Duralee.

Now folks, if you aren’t sure if this is the industry you belong in, best you call 949.360.0780 to see. (After all, we here at The Cypress Group are champions of using “be with your people” as a great marketing and business development tool!).

If it is your world, then “See you there!”

Yet Another Runway.

May 16, 2011 No comments yet

It hard to believe that almost an entire year has passed since the Orange County ASID had a blast over at the Laguna Design Center with their 2010 Designer Runway, but it has!

So, be sure to mark THIS down on your agenda! In addition to bringing out some of Orange County’s most well known design industry names, this is sure to be more than a little bit of fun!

Where will YOU be on Friday the 13th?

If, by chance, you are looking for a clever place to hang your coat for the evening, might we suggest you join Joseph Aldrich and Team Joseph 2011 along with the Orange County LLS as they wrap up the 2011 Man and Woman of the Year Campaign?

Funny Business.

In case you didn’t see, take a moment to notice our Principal Consultant Joseph Aldrich as he appears in the May issue of OC Metro. (That’s him down on the lower right corner). We are not sure what this has to do with marketing, consulting OR business development.. but is sure does have something to do with Southern California!

Snarkisms welcome!

“Pop” Two Times!

May 4, 2011 No comments yet

Now, realizing everyone is tres busy these days, let’s throw this out shall we?

Thursday, Team Joseph 2011 is working to combat cancer by tossing a reception and/or silent auction (with some COOL stuff!). That is at 7pm.

Now at 8pm on that same night, without moving your car or your stance, you will be part of Riviera Magazine’s closing night event for “Lido Goes Pop“.

How does that work? (other than clever planning?). It’s yet a simple “event within an event”.

Here is all the information you need for BOTH, but be sure to note the LLS event has an rsvp deadline of, well, today.

Either way, we are sure to see you Thursday!

Pop Thursday!

It’s no secret we love all things Riviera/Modern Luxury (and who doesn’t??).  Which means we are happy to spread the word about their “Lido Goes Pop” pop up village down in Lido Island. Yes, there is a tad more to the story, primarily a great design space we have been working on with The Stonemill Design Center, but let’s just leave it at that for now. Shall we?

Come join the fun!
